FAQs

Below are some frequently asked questions, but if you can't find what you're looking for, get in touch using the contact form

What can I expect from my first session?

The first CBT therapy session will be an assessment where we will spend some time getting to know you, understanding the main problem areas and your goals for treatment.

If CBT feels right for you, we can then formulate a treatment plan together.

What qualifications do you have?

I hold the following qualifications and am fully accredited with the BABCP, meaning that I have completed extensive training to the required standards. I maintain my accreditation by attending regular CPD (Continued Professional Development) and my own clinical supervision.

Psychology BSc – Canterbury Christ Church University

Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Canterbury Christ Church University

How long and frequent are therapy sessions?

Sessions are 50-60 minutes long and ideally occur once per week.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone’s needs are different so the number of sessions you will want or need depends on several factors. The average can be around 6-20 although you may find that you respond well and do not need as many as expected.

How will I pay for sessions?

I ask that you pay by bank transfer prior to the session or no later than 24 hours after it has ended. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice must be given for cancellations, otherwise the session fee will be charged.

How do online sessions work?

I use zoom video calls for remote therapy. The platform works well from your smart phone, tablet or laptop/PC. You can use it through the app or via an internet browser.
